Regional Council - Special Meeting

That Council receive the presentation by Bruce Macgregor, Chief Administrative Officer.

WHEREAS York Regional Council has made a commitment for increased enforcement to bring about compliance for residents and businesses who are not adhering to COVID-19 safety measures and protocol WHEREAS Compliance with the Province’s orders and regulations and The Regional Municipality of York Class Order including restrictions on gathering size, mandatory masks or face coverings and physical distancing, is an important element to stopping the spread of COVID19 AND WHEREAS Businesses who fail to comply will be subject to fines and potential closures THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED 1. THAT Council support the continued commitment from Municipalities to support enhanced enforcement efforts 2. THAT COVID-19 Enforcement Taskforce will collect enforcement data on a weekly basis to be shared on york.ca/covid19 A recorded vote was: For : Bevilacqua, DiPaola, Emmerson, Ferri, Grossi, Hackson, Hamilton, Heath, Jackson, Jones, Lovatt, Mrakas, Pellegrini, Quirk, Rosati, Scarpitti, Taylor, Vegh, Barrow (19) Against : Perrelli (1) Absent : Li (1)

That Council receive the memorandum from Erin Mahoney, Commissioner of Environmental Services dated November 26, 2020

That Council enact Bylaw No. 2020-58 to confirm the proceedings of this special meeting of Council held on November 26, 2020.
